The End of a Legend
Chapter 1: A merciless defeat by a merciless man.
Link and Ganondorf fought on a balcony high atop Hyrule castle and there was a problem, Link was losing. He was wounded in several places and the pain was so bad he could barely stand. Ganondorf rushed toward link and punched his shield so hard it cracked in half, he then tore the pieces from links arm as helpless crowd watched them do battle. The Master sword and Ganondorfs Sword of Light clashed and Ganondorfs overwhelming strength won. The Master Sword was thrown to the ground as Ganondorf made one final blow from Links shoulder to his hip, Ganondorf picked up Link by the neck along with the Master Sword and raised him over the balconys edge and yelled to the crowd below THIS, IS YOUR HERO!!! and dropped him down and threw the Master Sword down at him. As Link fell he watched his world fade into a dark red blur. Zelda, who was hiding among the crowd watched in horror as her knight in shining armor fell to his death, and the crowd, erupted in tears as the fallen Master Sword plunged into his throat. Ganondorf yelled to the crowd once more saying A fitting end to an unfit hero. He then turned to the two darknuts guarding the battle arena and said Search the castle for Zelda and they obeyed.
Zelda ran not knowing where she was going, the only thing she knew was that she had to get away and get help, she had to find Midna. The problem was that the gateway to Midnas home was destroyed. When she reached the towns gate she got an idea, she ran to Lon Lon Ranch and began searching the outer wall till she found it. She found a trapdoor leading down somewhere under Lon Lon Ranch, it was the Hall of Ancients, where many other Links from a different age had stored the weapons they used to defeat Ganondorf. She took the Moon Pearl, the Magic Mirror, and a horse from the ranch and rode to the Arbiters Grounds. Once she had reached the top she stood where the Twilight Mirror would be and activated the Magic Mirror, and hoped it would work.
To her great joy it did. She had entered the Twilight Realm. She pulled herself together and began her search for Midna. One thing she found surprising was that the land was flourishing; being linked to Hyrule she thought it would face the same devastation brought with the wrath of Ganondorf. When she found Midnas castle she was appalled when guards refused to let her in. How dare they treat a princess like this?!? Zelda thought to herself as she circled the castle searching for a way in. At last she found Midna at the back of the castle looking down off a balcony. HEY! Zelda yelled up to Midna, but she just kept staring into space. LISTEN! Again she cried out but Midna didnt hear her. Zelda decided to forget about the somewhat polite approach and warped up to the balcony with her magic. Zelda pressed her lips to Midnas ear and said LISTEN TO ME! This shocked Midna so much she accidently transformed back into her imp form WHAT WAS THAT FOR!?! To get your attention, now listen I need to tell you something. NO! Why should I help some princess like you?!? Because I need it! Look around you! My land is flourishing! But- NO! When your world decays then mine is enhanced, but when your world becomes better mine begins to decay! If I help you then it will only cause suffering for my people! Now leave here Midna refused to help so that she could live in excess while Zeldas people suffered like fools they clearly are? As she left the Twilight Realm she heard Midna call after her, when she turned to look she saw Midna was complaining about why she couldnt turn back to her normal self. An evil smirk creped across Zeldas face Come with me and Ill see what I can do.
fine replied Midna
The two clasp the Magic Mirror and the Moon Pearl and left through the portal awaiting the trials ahead of them.
Chapter 2: Warrior from Holodrum
A lone figure, wearing a wizards hat and robes, strode in to Hyrule and saw a moblin chasing after Zelda. He drew his sword, and with one quick stroke, felled the moblin. Seeing that her pursuer was dead, Zelda dismounted from her horse and approached her savior. Thank you brave hero. Zelda said with a smile, but the man said nothing
Hero, could I have your name? at last the man spoke I have no business with you, so please get out of my way. At this Zeldas welcoming smile turned to an angry frown How dare you speak to your princess that way! A princess huh? No matter, I came here to find someone and that someone is not you. With that the strange man mounted the nearest horse, which happened to be Zeldas, and rode away. As he rode away Midna hid herself in the horses shadow. Zelda called out to him Thats MY horse. The man turned to her and yelled Then you should not have gotten off it! Oh well Zelda said to herself with a miffed look Ill just go back to the ranch and get another one.
Upon arriving at Lon Lon Ranch she spied a red-haired horse. Thatll make a fine steed
Zelda thought to herself and mounted up upon it. On her way out she was blocked by a farm girl Where are you taking Epona? the farm girl asked Well out for a ride of course. I was going to give her to link as a gift after he had finished his adventure, do you know where he is? Farm girl, tell me your name. My name is Malon, and you are? I am your princess Zelda; now please get out of my way. Tell me where link is, then I shall get out of your way Sarcastically Malon added Your highness and bowed. Zelda turned to leave but hears Come to think of it, where is link? Malon added. Zelda stop saying He is
Zelda paused for a moment thinking about whether or not she should tell her, after all it was her duty to keep her people calm
dead Zelda said with an ice cold tune Malons eyes got teary and her face darkened Oh
was all she could make out as her lip quivered. She ran to her room sobbing, and with nothing left to say, Zelda left the ranch.
Chapter three: Midnight Nightmare
It was nightfall when Ralph had reached Hyrule Town, so he started a small fire to keep warm. He heard the sound of bones clacking together. Ralph turned his head and saw a lone stalkid approaching Ha, no match for me! Ralph leaped forward and cut him down. Ralph returned to his fire and heard the sound again, this time seeing two stalkids Heh, is this all the great Ganondorf can muster? When they got close enough Ralph swung his killing both of them. Ralph walked to Epona to get some water, and when he returned to his fire four more stalkids burst forth from the ground. AHHAHAHAHA!!! Come back all you want but I will keep cutting you down! With that Ralph swung his sword through the air killing them all. They kept coming back and Ralph could do nothing keep cutting them down. Ralph kept hacking at them till they had grown to the point where Ralph could do nothing but scream in pain as they clawed away at his backside. All hope had been lost for Ralph, but suddenly Midna burst forth from the shadows cast by the fire. She summoned a giant fiery hand that sent out a shockwave turning all the stalkids to dust and rushed forward to save Ralph. Ralph staggered to his feet and with Midnas help got back on his horse. Weve got to get away from here! Theyll be back soon! Midna said in a fearful voice and they rode away with Midna in the horses shadow.
Ralph rode through the night till, at last, the sun broke out over the mountains and the army of stallkids burned to dust. Ralph stopped the horse, which was tired from a long nights journey, on a hill and paused for a moment to take in the splendor of daylight. Midna jumped up from the horses shadow and shouted WHY ARE YOU STOPPING THEYLL KILL US!!! WEVE GOT TO RUN! RUN! directly into Ralphs face. Look Ralph said, showing Midna where the stallkids would be, Theyre gone
Midna turned to look at where the army would be H-How
Midna stuttered for a moment How could mere stallkids be so powerful? I dont know
Ganons victory over Link must have strengthened the monsters.
